The most common places for mould in homes today, is in the bathroom, laundry and kitchen. Two of the most important things to remember when taking measures to eliminate the growth of mould are Waterproofing and Ventilation.
Waterproofing
Waterproofing can be achieved through a number of measures such as waterproof sealants, paints, barriers and materials.
Ventilation
Ventilation can be achieved through ceiling fans, vents and windows.
Other things to check:
- Ensure that your home is adequately sealed from any moisture entering into the space
- Make sure the clothes dryer is hooked up to outside ventilation
- Make sure that you have functional ceiling fans in bathrooms
- Another more thing you can do is set up a dehumidifier to keep additional moisture out of the air.
